Cooking With Kids : Homemade Beef Burgers With Apple and Marmite

3 Simple & Unusual Ingredients

1 Apple
500g minced beef
1tsp marmite

Instructions

Mix a Peeled grated apple with 500g of lean mind beef and a teaspoon of marmite

Shape and firmly press into around 10 burgers -squeeze the mixture together so they don't fall apart during cooking.

Brush both sides with oil and grill, barbecue or fry until cooked through .. about 10 minutes each side.

Serve with a bun and salad or with baked beans, broccoli and chips.

For homemade chips, cook too many boiled potatoes one day and use the leftovers to make wonderful homemade chips the next nigh, slice them up and shallow fry them in a few tablespoons of oil oil for a few minutes until they are heated through and slightly crispy on the outside.

Good Food Tips:

Add in Worcestershire sauce, sauteed onions and even a crumbled up stock cube to add more flavours to your burgers.

You can use any sort of mince for this recipe - if you have a food processor you can even buy beef steak and mince them up yourselves.

The apple is from my own tree and mincer is an old one I found one day while rumbling in a charity shop. And I took my very first macro shot on my Nikon DS3100

The Violence Of Summer With Autumn taking over

The violence of summer with autumn taking over the colours are being crumpled into golden hues of orange, brown , green . Soon it will be the crinkle crunch of the leaves under our feet.

We hold dear the last bastions of summer the violence of its colour carries us through autumn and winter.

Taking tea in the garden can be an inspiration ....

I keep finding myself down by the river , I saw the swans and their signets again but as I didn't have my Nikon with me I couldn't get a close up.

But nevertheless it's still a breathtaking world it's my world and one I feel very comfortable in.

Autumn brings routine yet it can bring new challenges especially when those long nights beckon.  The glow of the leaves is replaced by the glow of the fire.

I am still startled if I come across anyone walking ... I do feel it's my special place you are treading on my karma . But you do have share this world for who would not want to share this hand on heart.

Rainy Day Lanes

Its raining , that fine drizzly rain rain that get you wet , not that summer cooling down rain but misty rain. It's not quite the rain of Autumn yet when the colours take on a glow of their own , and you can smell the dampness. It doesn't matter if it's raining does it really take my journey home today for example I ran into an grandad taking his granddaughter for a walk and she was merrily splish splashing in puddles.

You wouldn't have though she had broken her leg at the start of summer!" he said

"They don't care, they just get on with it"  he concluded

I exchanged a few pleasant words with him and went on my way .

I still managed on a day like this to get a few stunning pictures because beauty doesn't stop for the weather does it now ....

Under The Broadwalk

We have been to Florida lately namely Orlando we stayed at aDisney resort as part of this we had Disney dining meal plan.

There are many levels of this but ours was middle plan which entitled us to one quick service meal, one snack, and one table service a day.

Don't ask me why but over the age of 9 children are seen as adults in the context of pricing for theme parks and food etc.

A quick service meal can be used at breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A table service can also be used at any time but is more lavish affair , exchange 2 table services meals each then it becomes an distinguished affair known as signature dining.

One evening after what seemed we had walked to the moon and back we went for our prearranged dinner at The Flying Fish . The location for this is situated at Disneys Broadwalk and when you are there you are transformed into a magical world with a sophisticated seaside feel.

Being here you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. Try your luck on the turn of the century style seaside fairground games.

Sometimes the best times can be had by just wandering around and soaking up the atmosphere of your surroundings.

If you feed the soul with sights and sounds then memories are enriched take pictures along the way then when you look back it's almost as if you were there.

Rounding off a delightful evening at    TheFlying  Fish an top notch fish restaurant though if you wish you can have steak as my son did. I resisted the urge to Instagram the main course but o couldn't stop myself when it came to dessert.

Awwh I wish I was back holidays are so carefree ..

I live to love

'I live to love don't you' ? Whether it is my family or a simple walk I think I  'live to love'. And with love comes appreciation of the simple things in life, you don’t always have to thrashing at life at full pace. Sometimes it's good to take stock of your life and ‘live to love’.

And with many children starting school watching them go it’s the hardest thing that perhaps that’ll you ll ever feel.  But as a parent loving them you give them empathy to ‘live to love’. For when you ‘love to live’ the world has a tranquil balance.

And when my son goes on the door I know that each little step he makes is one step nearer to the day , that invertible day he will go to university. I know that one day there will be one less key turn of the door, one less ceremonially plonking of his drinks bottle on the kitchen surface requiring filling.

I know that I will have given my son the feeling of ‘ I love to live’ and then he will be on the next step of his journey which will be ‘live to love’
