A Mothers' love

My husband struggles with Mother's day (even though I am a mother) , he lost his mother when he was 17 . He comes from a large family and he was the baby of the family a last attempt at another girl. He has 5 brothers and one sister.

He went to work at 16 after leaving school he was a young one being only 15 when he took his exams and then he was straight into the working world where there should have been a Mothers guiding hand then was only his father who was very much struggling to keep it all together.

My husband didn't have his own bedroom till he was 14 it was a case of sleeping top to toe with his other brothers. his sister was a saving grace but when sibling responsibility comes a price that that is one of perhaps losing your childhood as you do your duty and raise your siblings.

He lost his mum to cancer breast and brain tumour she was a lovely lady whom I only ever spoke to on the phone when asking to speak to him who was then my boyfriend. So I wonder would would she make of me , I regret very much she will never meet her grandson.

So life was tough for him and the day serves as a reminder to him

We will get through the day we always do...

So here's remembering a very much missed mother .

kinesthetic Learners ( Learning through play )

Social skills can hard to fathom for an autistic child and couple with language problems and you have a right mixed bag.  Instructions can be near on impossible for an SEN child to follow as they sometimes struggle to break free from the parameters of their special need.

You can expand their social understanding in a number of ways:

Lead an instruction by starting with their name but if they say"no" then again start with their name and say please.

I love kinesthetic learning as well which is learning through play.

Kinesthetic learner learn best by moving their bodies activating their small or large muscles as they learn. These are the hands on kinesthetic or the "doers" These sort of learner actually concentrate better when movement is evolved such as playing with a ball or writing their name in the sand.

Why not try these ideas ?

1. Clean mud

2. Play Outdoors

3. Modelling clay  & play Dough

4. Fine Motor skills activities.

5. Mark Making

6. Dave the googly eyed bee

7. Easy Cooking with kids

8. Active play

9. How to spell

10. Learning with Lego

Tea in the eye of the Birds Eye beholder

Some days are just Bird's Eye chicken nuggets days for kids or families but just because its chicken nuggets doesn't mean you have to serve it with chips and beans. You can be adventurous with what you serve with convince food !

What about a satay a sauce with chicken nuggets ( the Satay sauce is not suitable for nut allergy sufferers )

You can then have a panini roll and some carrot sticks.

And then when it comes to the evening meal there comes the problem when your child doesn't want the garlic infused Rosemary potato wedges. This problem can be solved but doing a small portion of mash potato , everyone's happy and you can all sit down to a relaxing family meal and talk about your day. Perfect for a tea time hand over.

Disclosure ( I was provided with a £15 voucher from Mumsnet to buy a number if Birds Eye products from Tesco )

Motorola RAZR I a technological Mother's Day gift

The RAZR i is stylish and compact but really powerful and has an amazing battery life (20 hours) so it can keep going during your busy day.

As well as giving you the benefits a smartphone owner has (sharing photos instantly, in the case of my family!) the RAZR i has a cool feature called Smartactions which allow you to tell your phone how to act during different situations (so for example as I am a Teachers Assistant so you could tell it whenever I’m in school between 8.30 and 3.30 go silent, divert my calls to voicemail and turn off all apps or when I’m at home between 10pm and 6am only ring for calls from a select few people who may call during an emergency)

Some of the other key features the Motorola RAZR i phones have include:

· Beautiful 4.3inch edge-to-edge screen- provides a beautiful viewing experience
· Corning® Gorilla® Glass display - Visually stunning, lightweight, and highly damage-resistant
· Splash-guard coating - both inside and out for water resistance, not to mention dust and weather sealing
· Long-lasting 2000mAh battery- allows users to talk, text, tweet and browse for longer

And over the past few weeks I have been putting the Razr I through its paces and I am suitably impressed. I have taken some superb images with it and it has also allowed me to keep pace with my social media world. I have managed to log on it , edit my photos and turn them into collages.

Disclosure All thoughts words and opinions are my own and I have been lent the RAZR I

Seeing the wood for the trees

This week sees me back in the countryside again and whilst I am usually looking forward this time I decided to look up ...

Variety is the spice of life as they say I love the way that photography can capture the texture of nature.
