Alice in Wonderland Party On !

I have developed an obsession interest in Alice in Wonderland when I baked some cookies of all things and it got me to thinking which is a very dangerous thing. Curious and Curiouser I thought what a good idea for a children's/ family party such a beguiling theme.

Alice in Wonderland Cookies.

I also have started my own Pin interest board on Alice in Wonderland so feel free to pin from my board and please do tell me if you have an Alice in Wonderland pin board. I am always waiting on an antique book of Alice in Wonderland and have placed a bid on a Victorian one as well which has illustrations by Tenniel in it.

I also spotted this cute little Rabbit light from Find-me-a-gift which is ideal for if you are having that Alice in Wonderland party and it doesn't need to be plugged in.

Wondering what to wear on your head to a Mad Hatters tea party  pop over to this blog for ideas!

Find a gift often run many brilliant competitions such as this won to win a Iphone 5 !
(Disclosure I was sent the Rabbit light for review all thoughts, words and opinions are my own)

Skyfall and how to Bond

I never ever ever was a girly girl Ballet, dollies and pink were never my domain. I never had inspiration either as I approached adulthood to be a Bond Girl  Bond Woman. I was a Tom boy through and through and my favourite toy was my James Bond Car the Lotus Espirit.

Bond to some might have been a misogynistic dinosaur in the past but we have to remember that Bond is indicative of our times it seeks to mirror our society. Though certain situation may be a leap of face and poetic licence is the order of the day.

I saw Skyfall at the Showcase Cinedelux in the Directors Lounge You arrive as if you a a secret agent you are provided with Some Mars planet sweets and shown to your seat . I was shown to a leather glad booth , here I imagined myself to be awaiting Bond with the prospect of going on some sort of secret mission.

But I am afraid the world is going to combust in a  concoction of self righteousness it appears we can not say Bond Girl now its Bond Woman according to one documentary I saw . Life I agree is sometimes full of labels but as long as it is not inflammatory or racist is there really a problem? If you have a girl and she is described as being a TomBoy perhaps if you are really really bothered you can say yes she is a practical girl ...

Win a Furby for Christmas

Time to dust off your Furbish dictionary because Furby is back and ready to take the world by storm! Feed it, speak to it, tickle it, play music for it and shake, tilt or turn your Furby upside down. But be warned - how you treat your Furby will shape its personality! Are you ready to handle a Furby?

Who will your Furby become? It all depends on how you play with your Furby. When you first meet your Furby, it will speak mostly Furbish. But the more you play with Furby, the more English it will speak. It responds to your touch, your music, and even to other Furbys (each sold separately). But remember: your Furby has a mind of its own!

You can also download a free app to help you translate Furbish, as well as virtually feed your Furby and other interactive features. App is optional and works with iPad, iPod touch and iPhone with iOS 4.2 or later.

I am giving one of these away funded by myself as its my big 40th birthday in December on the 5th I like cake, chocolate wine and I don't like hamsters.

So Follow the rafflecopter instructions below and this yellow bundle of fluff could be winging its way to entertaining you this Christmas. My son had one of these a few years ok and he loved it.

Waiting to come back

There it stands lonely in the hall, a little pair of Wellingtons waiting for their owner to come back and put them on to go puddle jumping.

A toothbrush stands to attention with little teeth marks on the end waiting to brush the tooth fairies gold.

But they wait , time doesn't stand still and so over 50 years later they are still waiting.

There was a time before the NHS when you were at the mercy of the  doctors , a time before immunisations. A lady that I know lost her little girl these so many years ago I believe to German measles and the Doctor didn't know the symptoms. Its very sad but she carries on with the process of living there may be an emptiness in her soul, but she carries on and her vibrancy and friendliness has an impact on so many people. She will never know what power she has to illuminate this world, another one of lives unsung heroes.

Does it matter ?

Yes and no such is life if we stop and mull over too much we will never get on with living and this is what this brave lady does.

But she will always carry that sadness in her heart and I feel and ache for her.
