Win a Furby for Christmas

Time to dust off your Furbish dictionary because Furby is back and ready to take the world by storm! Feed it, speak to it, tickle it, play music for it and shake, tilt or turn your Furby upside down. But be warned - how you treat your Furby will shape its personality! Are you ready to handle a Furby?

Who will your Furby become? It all depends on how you play with your Furby. When you first meet your Furby, it will speak mostly Furbish. But the more you play with Furby, the more English it will speak. It responds to your touch, your music, and even to other Furbys (each sold separately). But remember: your Furby has a mind of its own!

You can also download a free app to help you translate Furbish, as well as virtually feed your Furby and other interactive features. App is optional and works with iPad, iPod touch and iPhone with iOS 4.2 or later.

I am giving one of these away funded by myself as its my big 40th birthday in December on the 5th I like cake, chocolate wine and I don't like hamsters.

So Follow the rafflecopter instructions below and this yellow bundle of fluff could be winging its way to entertaining you this Christmas. My son had one of these a few years ok and he loved it.

Waiting to come back

There it stands lonely in the hall, a little pair of Wellingtons waiting for their owner to come back and put them on to go puddle jumping.

A toothbrush stands to attention with little teeth marks on the end waiting to brush the tooth fairies gold.

But they wait , time doesn't stand still and so over 50 years later they are still waiting.

There was a time before the NHS when you were at the mercy of the  doctors , a time before immunisations. A lady that I know lost her little girl these so many years ago I believe to German measles and the Doctor didn't know the symptoms. Its very sad but she carries on with the process of living there may be an emptiness in her soul, but she carries on and her vibrancy and friendliness has an impact on so many people. She will never know what power she has to illuminate this world, another one of lives unsung heroes.

Does it matter ?

Yes and no such is life if we stop and mull over too much we will never get on with living and this is what this brave lady does.

But she will always carry that sadness in her heart and I feel and ache for her.

I Vow to thee my Country .. Remberance Sunday

"I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love:
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her path"

My favourite hymn of all time and very poignant for Remembrance day  is severing as tribute to  those who have served our country. Myself I come from a long line of Military tradition my Great Grandads were both in the First World War one met with a tragic ending which you can read about here and please do as it serves as a reminder of the struggles and heart breaks our arm forces go through.

We will Remember.

My Great Grandad on my dads side was a messenger to no one less than Lawrence of Arabia he never spoke of the Great War I only ever say him in his bead as he struggled with the effect of Millers lung. But what a life he must have led and I am forever in his gratitude even though I was only a little girl when I saw him on a few occasions.

My Grandad was in the RAF as an engineer and saw service in Africa where he witnessed many a horror such as the death of colleagues one of whom I believe was an heir to the drinks company Hennessy.

My own Grandad on my mother side worked for GPO which was the (General Post office ) in his war days he worked in Churchill Cabinet War , he had dealings with Bletchley Park ( that of the Engima fame ) and apparently worked in many other secret tunnels in London . He never really spoke about what he did even when he could he was a man of honour , a man of worth and above all he was Grandad. He was part of keeping the world safe for the likes of you and I and I think sometimes in this frivolous world we tend to forget that sometimes.

So today if you can if you own way think of the sacrifice and serve these brave men and women gave.

Toe Nail Fairy

Yes I am going to burst your bubble,crush your dreams make you cry hopelessly destroy your childhood dreams . Please don't cry and I am sorry I don't do a counselling service.

Remember when we were a child and were really really excited when you lost your teeth and put them under your pillow at night. You went bananas when you woke up , it was like Christmas morning. Lifting up your pillow just to see what the tooth fairy brought. It usually was some coins  a sweet note hand written of course by the tooth fairy. As all little children as inspiring capitalist they are really more interested in the cash, I have yet to find out if Lord Sugar or that lot off Dragons Den started their business success in such a manner. I have always strongly believed and was totally convinced that the tooth fairy existed and I wasn't a believer in the Toe nail fairy until until my son J told me otherwise or conned me into it. Thanks J .

(cartoon copied with the owners permission)
When you are a children life is always so much simpler and magical days are endless and time doesn't exist. .Well its about the "Toe Nail Fairy" I am sorry it doesn't exist it was a clever ploy by J when he was 5 to con me out of cash on holiday.We were on holiday in Spain and one of his toenails had come off, he swore blind if there was a tooth fairy there had to be a toenail fairy.

He is 13 now and yes he is still conning me out of cash because he really really needs that avatar on his PS3.
