Dealing With Cat Grief

Cat Grief

This isn't just restricted to yourself at losing a much loved pet, we lost our cat Rollie last Monday , he was a very much loved member of our family and life is one cat shaped hole at the minute. Rollie and Jack weren't related but as described in the memory post to Rollie, they were very much like  Bert and Ernie Sesame Street. They had grown together as kittens with Jack being a few months older , when Jack wasn't looking Rollie would clonk him on the head and visa visa.

Jack has very much been pining for Rollie and that's natural , we haven't stopped talking about Rollie at all and in doing so it helps with the loss. And I think Rollie would love that as he was very much the centre of attention even though he was shy ! he demanded that you look at how beautiful he was !!

So over the past 2 weeks I've had to work through my cat grief and help Jack with his , he has been my sad cat .

In helping Jack I've at first fed him scrambled eggs / cooked chicken and sardines , I also tried feeding him small amounts , leaving his food for longer ( which didn't work ) I've also brought him special other cat foods as a treat , we are working through his eating and we are just about cracking it now . We've also changed how we leave him during the day we used to put both cats in the kitchen when we went out but now we allow him access to the house with no access to the bedrooms . He also has toys all the place it's not unusual to find a toy mouse on the stairs . It's a time process and we still feel like Rollie will come back through the cat flap at some point . Laugh cry do what ever you need to to get through .

I was pleased when Lilly's Kitchen sent Jack some food treats to try and I think Jack appreciated the kind gesture.

When changing over cat food (perhaps to Lily's kitchen maybe ) make sure you do it gradually over 2-3 weeks by mixing more and more of the new food into your old stuff. Lily's Kitchen for cats offers up a new Tate and texture thanks to the simple, natural , meaty goodness the recipes are made of.

Paws and Rewind ..... Huzzah @Bombardier_beer review...

I constantly plot the downfall of my human couterparts. I leave mice's heads on the kitchen floor, and foot in the downstairs toilet oh and its brains just inside the kitchen door. Which are just ready for the humans when they rush down stairs in the middle of the night for a glass of water. I had thought from the various friends on her who felines leave them bits of mouse everywhere that we could cobble a mouse together. You know a sort of MOUSECANSTEIN with a bolt through its neck; and don't ask me why I would call it Bob.

Can you spot the cat can you , its a bit like that " Where's Wally"

I had the small human in a tight grip, don't let my sleeping face fool you. I let the small human go but I still had an evil smirk . Its tough being a cat and humans are so stupid. Well all this plotting I was really thristy, so after this those super  people @Bombardier_beer had given me so beer to review.

Notice the wink yet again( why does my cat do this?)

Well I couldn't but the grown up human could.

And I have to say it looked a gorgeous pint after pouring it into the glass...

The look of it does wishes you could reach into the picture and take it there and then. It has the right level of hopyyiness ( made up word) it sits very well on your pallette. I charged my husband with drinking this. At first he couldn't detect the peppary aromas but after some cheese and crackers which he said he needed to clear his palette! he was able to detect this. Or was he too lazy to go get himself a snack!

The Sun will come out tommorow....a Soda Stream review

I know what you are thinking "Oh Gawd not another Soda Stream review " but wait a minute mine is different. I shall tell you why as a child there was only two things I wanted in life a soda stream and wait for it a Annie doll.

Annie Doll

My childhood dream and do you know what I still want one now, part of us I think always hangs onto our childhood. My other dream , yes you've guessed it a soda stream but for me its just not about reviewing it it the completion of a childhood dream.

This was the first task inserting the gas cylinder which was very simple to do.
My other dream look :)

Next was filling the reusable bottle up  with water .

After which you screwed it onto the soda stream this for me took a little doing but I soon got the hang of it.

Press the button till you hear a little as i say PRR Prr sound  do this three times , pausing between presses. You can do an extra PRR Prr if you want it extra fizzy. Unscrew the bottle very slowly and add your cordial . I must stress please tip the bottle( at a slight angle)  while doing this otherwise it is like Krakatoa exploding everywhere. Screw the top back on and shake very gently!!!

Here is Rollie ready to help with adding the cordial.

Rollie is pictured with the lime cordial as ever Rollie is always really happy to help.

So after adding the cordial this was the result. Screw the top back on and shake very gently!!!

In this photo you will see how lovely bubbly it looks!

And of course the finished article poured into a glass.

I liked most flavours that are available the brilliant thing is there are samples flavours to buy so you can see which ones that you do really like. My son was most pleased about the cola flavour one and I shall be buying that one.

The sodastream I was sent retails at £59.99 and I was estatic about it. Please take the time to read the facts on their website about how many bottles you will save in your lifetime.

I think it would be useful to buy another bottle as it comes with only one. I hope you enjoyed this review as much as I did doing it. I hope you can achieve your long lost childhood dream.

What a picture ............Kodak ESP 3250

You know what it's like you've just been told the cost of replacing the ink cartridge in your printer.................

Alright then Roliie paw up is you want to review a printer.......a Kodak ESP  3250

You really sure Rollie both paws up please...

So the lovely Monkey at Cartridge Monkey decided to let Rollie have a go.

Kodak ESP 3250

First thing we did was unpack the printer.

Next I opened the printer up and inserted the cartridge carrier .

After  I inserted the ink cartridges.

It was so easy even the cat could do it ....

cute silver tabby cat sleeping

If only it hadn't fallen asleep on the job. I couldn't have Rollie shirking his reviewing job so I woke the cat up gently.

Though Rollie did look like he had been necking ten pints of larger......

The first test for the printer wasn't off the computer but was printing of the SD card. This made easy by reading the clearly supplied instrucion.s. The LCD screen is clear and easy to navigate. Rollie thought he could make a better photo than my son would. I disagreed a while later after Rollie had left a mouse's head on the kitchen floor aka Mogfather style, I relented.......

"Hah humans, cat's take better photo's"

Never play hide and seek with a Ninja cat ....

You must never never never play hide and seek with a Ninja cat quite simply you will lose. When  Rollie the Ninja cat vanished it was " oh dear where it's gone.?" I feared for everything and everyone in my house. Until I found the smug little so and so hiding at the top of the stairs.

I am sure the cat is giving me a mocking look....

I turned my back and Rollie looked even more smug.

I turned my back again and it had tried to hide. This cat is why I sleep with one eye open at night. Look it tried to hide again.

Help me that is a look of pure evil from Rollie . I am sure it 666 on its fur somewhere.

Oh no not more Royal Mews .......

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Rollie indeed thought that the TV was the window to a different Universe and I think it happened at the Royal wedding . As these series of pictures will tell. I am sure that people could see him through the television screen. Twilight music cue.......

Rollie awaits the Royal Wedding  with excitement. He had at this point put his flag down it protest at not having cucumber sandwiches.

Somehow the police had spotted a giant killer Ninja cat at the wedding. The impending nuptials were at risk. The crowd sensing a photo opportunity and seeking relief from guess the length of Kate Middleton's dress train length, snapped away.

Of course by this time the lovely Royal couple were safely married but at the advice of MI5 they were sped away in a car. ( The couple you saw in that nice Aston Martin were doubles).

MI5 whisking the Royal couple away to safety..... and that's the truth ;)

With all this excitement the only decoration was this tea towel I won from 3BlondeBearsLtd . It is great Jaimie Oliver's wife has one, a Royal tea towel and not a Ninja Killer. It was ideal you could use it if you wished as it is high quality. I just wished to use it as decoration and as a memento of a Happy day that was nearly ruined by a Ninja Killer cat.

Cat in the hat .I don't do cute.

cute silver tabby kitten wearing a santa hat

"This is the one and only time I have worn a hat. I don't wear hats. Even then I had an evil stare. You say you pay for what you get, well not always. My servant "Jack" cost £15 and seems to like the stupid humans. I on the other hand cost over £100 and hate people, hate life, hate leather chairs and hate hats."

Rollie is very very cross you wouldn't like him when he's angry !

Silver tabby cat
Rollie has expressed to me his sadness and annoyance that no one has come forward. And  so Rollie speaks " I feel very very cross that no one has offered me anything to review.I know I only started this blog last Friday. Rollie has decided to give away  twelve more prizes .

Rollie The Cat my blog inspiration

Silver tabby cat

Meet Rollie the ninja killer cat. "Awwh " I hear you cry, please don't be fooled. It may look like a certain brand of cat food cat but is trying to kill me. Firstly it has a taste in fine food, it often brings home French Brie, Water cress and cheddar cheese. It also assassinated a whole host of bumble bees and the poor pretty butterfly didn't stand a chance. It sits by the sinks looking at the sharp knives... but the worse thing it tried to do was gas us. No it didn't have a disagreeable meal it switched on the cooker gas. Hard to believe but true. I live in constant fear of Rollie the Ninja killer cat.
